About

A little about me

I'm a Computer Science graduate from the University of Auckland, building full-stack web applications with clean architecture and honest attention to quality.

Before software, I spent several years as a chef at a Japanese cuisine restaurant. The discipline of a professional kitchen, precision, timing, composure under pressure, shaped how I approach every project.

Background

The kitchen taught me to code

Before computer science, I worked as a chef at a Japanese cuisine restaurant. A busy service is a high-throughput, low-latency problem — strict timing, hard dependencies, and failure is immediately visible.

Those habits don't leave you. They're how I approach a deadline, a production bug, or a team standup.

Precision
Zero tolerance for careless mistakes — in both a kitchen and a codebase.
Composure under pressure
Busy service trained calm, methodical thinking when everything is on the line.
Systems thinking
Coordinating a kitchen section maps directly onto backend architecture.
Relentless refinement
A dish — like a function — is only good after many iterations. I care about what I ship.
